Biography

Jeroboam possesses the wonderful ability to grasp any director’s sensitivity allowing him to take his roles beyond the imaginable in his performances. Jeroboam has been praised for a superior quality in delivering some “buffo” including Don Bartolo, D. Magnifico, Don Basilio and others.

His vocal repertoire is varied in his bass, bass-baritone versatility allowing him to succesfully sing in in operas such as Timor in Turandot; Bruschino, Commisario, Gaudenzio in Il Signor Bruschino; Gianni Schicchi, Notario in G. Schicchi; Angelotti, Scarpia, Sacristano in Tosca, Basilio, Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia; Leporello, Comendatore in Don Giovann; Sulpice in La Fille du Regiment; Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore; Jochanaan the Baptist in Salome; Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola; Count Ceprano, Sparafucile, Monterone in Rigoletto; Germon, Dottore, Baron Douphol in La Traviata; Fiesco in Simón Boccanegra; Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte; Colin, Benoit, Alcindoro in La Boheme; Escamillo in Carmen; King of clubs in The Love for Three Oranges; Philip II Don Carlo; Zaccaria in Nabucco;(Zaccaria) or King of Egypt, Ramfis in Aida.

As a soloist he has performed in leading opera houses in Spain, most recently at Auditorio in Tenerife, Teatro Perez Galdós in Gran Canaria”, Liceo in Barcelona, Auditori in Barcelona, Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, Teatro Filarmonía in Oviedo, Palacio de Festivales in Santander or Palacio de la Ópera in Coruña to name a few.

He has been recently engaged as Cesare Angelotti at Teatro Maestranza in Seville. As well as Traviata’s Baron Douphol and a double role “Sacristan” and “Sciarrone” in Tosca both at Opera Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.

Among his upcoming engagements are Monterone in AGAO’s production of Rigoletto as well as roles in Andrea Chenier and Simon Boccanegra for Las Palmas opera festival ACO.             Born in Tenerife, the Canary Islands, he started his musical studies concentrating in clarinet under the direction of the Deutsche Kammerorchester soloist, Bernard Fisher and singing under the Catalan coach Joan Ferrer i Serra. He studied further with Dolors Aldea, Natalia Gavrilan and tenors Raúl Giménez and Vittorio Terranova. Additionally he completed studies of “stage performance” under Miquel Górriz y Pau Monterde and “body expression” under Jordi Villà
